Freedom token.

Found this at a school yard. It's about the size of a silver dollar and probaly copper and I cleaned it up. Any ideas of what it is or what ir might stand for?

Looks like something put out by a group such as VFW or other organization. I think there is a copyright date below the Iwo Jima scene that might give you an idea of age or possibly the manufacturer. Good luck & HH.

I took a better look at this token and I think the letters are NIMM and the year is 1978. I think you are probably right about it possibly being put out by the VFW. Thanks for the help on this. HH.

Can't really help on the token but I think the V.F.W. aspect is probably on the right track. Have to tell you the Platypus is a good coil and I have had good luck on old things in hunted areas. Nothing major but I'm getting stuff I had missed prior. Your club is getting 2 new members next meeting. Maybe we can give Lee some competition for you.

I'll tell Lee tomorrow night at bowling that you and a friend might be joining our club. Glad to hear that and yes, I'm sure you can give Lee some competition. Just ordered my Platypus coil from Doc's place. Hope it works out for me.HH.

Your medal is a production from NIMM Company in 1978 Honoring Vietnam Veterans and is for sale on E-Bay and is listed under Item # 8382799979, hope this helps.
