FRI HUNT 1863 INDIAN AND WHEATIE

Fri evening hunt at one of cincinnati parks, hunting in the woods. First hit was a v.d.i 65 1863 indian penny that might have been 1/8'' down right under the dirt. Wheatie is a 1910 v.d.i ? about 3'' down. That was my second indian ever.

Nice looking coin on the left there. What can you do to clean them up? I ordered some MS 70 Coin Brightener & Cleaner to clean my coins but it hasn't arrived yet...

The indian only read at 65 vdi? I've been dying to get an injun, and I kind of expected them to come in around the penny range, because they are a penny. Is this pretty typical for the O8K? (Oh, is that what you were using?)

Thanks, i have been soaking them in vinger. Any body have any different ways to clean coins besides vineger or MS coin brightener?

Hunting with T-2. Flying eagle and early indian heads should read around 65, later indians and earlier wheaties should read around 78, later wheaties have been around 81-82. Different years come in different on the meter. If you get a coin book you will see that certain years are made with different materials. Keep digging those signal between 60-80. Tom
