From Sherry's email - Pharoah is here (a bit long)

Pete in MI

New member
This little guy already has my heart!

We took Doobie with us when we went to pick up Pharoah. They did the
sniffing and hair-on-end and a few grrrrs, during which we just ignored them
and let them work out their differences...then they jumped in the car
together, and both rode in my lap on the way home! Well, actually Doobie
was on my chest and Pharoah was on my lap, but they were both on me :).

The things that are already endearing Pharoah to me: His natural ears. The
way he stands on his back legs to look around when he hears something, like
a meerkat. He talks, like Doobie does. He loves laps. When he wants to go
out, he sits in front of the door and stares at me. He and Doobie are
buddies.

The house where I picked him up was about 90 minutes away, in a tiny little
town. While we were there, Pete wanted to metal detect the playgrounds, so
I took that opportunity to walk the 2 pinheads and get them acquainted, and
get to know Pharoah a little bit. We walked for a half hour or so, and I
don't know that he's ever been on a leash before - but by the time we
stopped he was really good and not pulling at all. Most of the pictures
here were taken during our walk/getting acquainted time.

As you can see, Pharoah is nearly 3 times Doobie's height. I haven't
weighed him yet, but he's a good 20# to Doo's 8.5#. his back is higher than
my 96# doberman's chest. There's very little "min" in this minpin,
comparatively speaking...he's a medpin - lol.

I'm glad that Pharoah already had a pal with Doobie when we got home.
Chandler (doberman), typically, just followed him everywhere and stayed
between Pharoah and us for the first couple of hours. Bing got her chance
to establish her role as Queen within the first 10 minutes. She sniffed at
his hind end, he turned quickly and went after her, and within about 5
seconds it was over, and she had him down - lol. She's 9 years his senior
(he's a year and a half old) and half his size, but she reigns :).

He ignored Bruce (our cat) after a cursory sniff, and ignores the parrots,
except when the talking ones talk - he stares at them with a look I can only
describe as amazement :).

He's in a crate tonight, the minpin sized crate I have is a tight fit for
him. He can stand, barely, and has about 2" left from front-to-back. Good
thing he's curled up in the blankets. Hopefully he won't have to be crated
at night for very long, although I should probably invest in a bigger crate
anyway, just to have around...

Pharoah has talked, whined, and growled, but hasn't barked yet. I wonder
what his voice will sound like?

More pics in the coming days, I'm sure :).

His,
Sherry

I have to be to work in about an hour - called in to work from 8 to noon. Still have to get a brush hog from point A to point B for Josh to use. He waited until last night when we were out of town to call and ask me to move the machine....I waited all day for that call and now he calls when I am out of town...almost to the Mackinac Bridge!!!
Bothers me that there are those who stay up all night - sleep late and expect those who are earlier risers to change their schedules for them. Oh well. He will have to find another way or wait on my availability.

The town we went to was 'Wolverine' - the name btw is that of out state something or other. If you saw the movie 'Red Dawn' you'll know the Wolverine is a ferocious animal and was the name they spray painted onto enemy things and places they blew up. A small town. Didn't have much time to look around as I wanted to get some detecting in. Found only 35 cents at the school playground along with an old 30-06 shell cartridge. Seemed stranve not to find anything else.
Then found the local park and gave it a quick detect around the swings and nothing. I noticed a sign as we entered the park. Of the main entrance was a sign that stared 'Campground'. Guess someone camping earlier probably had a great time detecting this town.

Oh well. Gave to get more coffee and get the dogs out and fed before heading off to work...means I have to also wake up Sherry. Sure hate doing that...she needs rest.

Blessings all

Pete
