What an incredible day. I found 2 silver rings, one at 7

It says in Andy's book if you go over 22 or 24 in Auto sensitivity to go to ground normal that is why you experienced the results you expressed you felt. Some tested the different channels and felt that the lower ones were better for deep coins or silver if I remember right. Been a while since I read about it on this forum. I think your signals seemed short to you cause you stated you had FAST turned on and you didn't need it as that site everything was deep and didn't seem trashy. Turn up your gain too for deep objects amplifies the deeper hits.

Thanks for the suggestions and info Tom. I will follow your advice!
Some areas were trashy and that is why fast was on, but I'll try running it off as well as changing the ground. Interesting regarding the channels.

HI EMS

Glad to see you in the dark side as well :). I noticed we have exactly the same three machines but we came to that in different order I got first the etrac and then the V3i :)

Take care and thanks again for the programs you sent me ;)

Cheers from Spain
A,

Great video and finds. I enjoy seeing coins and finds from other parts of the world.

Thanks guys. Do you think it's good that I edit out the a large part of the digging? I think it's good to show the screen and hear the sounds at the beginning as it should be helpful to understanding. I often talk during the digging but thought it's kind of dead time, so just took most of it out. I show a small part just to show I actually found the coin!

edit - Just a note guys, I got 14 hours of hunting time with the Sanyo Eneloop 1900mAh batteries (they actually test to 2100). The first bar goes away quick but obviously it doesn't seem to matter. Even the stock pack does the same. Same with you with the first bar going away?

Nice video and great finds looking forward to more of the same from you!

Nice video, love the sounds+screen+recovery -- just right. Thanks and congratulations on the deep finds.

Try fast and deep on and see what you think sometime. Marksman7 does that with sounds LONG in really trashy spots makes the good high tone targets really sing right out. I tried it my last hunt and the spot wasn't trashy so I turned LONG back to NORMAL on sounds but it still seemed like it made the signal longer than normal and the good copper/silver targets still screamed out more than when I just used one or the other turned on ??????

I think they found that channel 2 was the best channel or maybe it was channel 1 for coins I read about their testing a while back on this forum somewhere. Maybe try a search if there is such a thing on here for it.

Tom - I was running deep on and fast on up until the end. The last hour of my hunt or more, I switched to fast off and also tried ground neutral. I think I checked a deep target or two and the setting changes didn't matter. But, the last two hours of my hunt is when I started pulling the deep stuff so maybe... I didn't notice or pay attention to the sounds though regarding normal changing and will check that next time out - Thx for the idea. I saw you on another thread saying you can run both deep and fast on - I was wondering. The nice thing about trying a new detector is you don't know what to do and often stumble on to some interesting settings... and bad mistakes. ehehe

I've tried running long sounds but they are just too long for me to run for too long. What I usually do is run long for a while and then when I find a target I switch to normal and check it. Another poster said to adjust my gain down if long seems too long, so I'll try that but I want to keep the depth. I have settled on normal but when I hit a really trashy spot I do try long. Next what I am going to do is to go into the trashy spot again in manual and go really slow. On a few deep targets I went slow in manual as a check from my normal 3 second sweep speed and it hit them well but when I did this in auto sensitivity it totally missed them a few times! Seems like manual allows a slower sweep speed so I think going slow in trash requires manual, at least with the stock coil.

Thanks again,
Albert
