Front yard

Well, after spending most of the day away from the house, when my wife and I returned home I decided to do a little coin hunting in my front yard. The same yard that has been "picked clean" by my Pioneer 505. Well I decided that I was gonna find some pennies and set out to do just that. About 2 hours and 5 pennies later, I am convinced that this little Gamma 6000 is awesome. This whole neighborhood used to be a dump 40 to 50 years ago so there is an abundance of trash under the surface. Found 3 with the 11 inch DD and 2 with the 8 inch concentric. I ordered the 5 inch DD today. It will probably be my main coil as I love the 4 inch coil on my 505. Man, I can't tell you how much I enjoy swinging and learning this detector. I am going to a park or school ground or both tomorrow weather permitting. Gonna be a fun time. Happy Hunting everybody! Sens at 95, GB at 72.

capt you will love that 5inch dd coil you ordered, its one i use a lot and its amazing what it can do target seperation good depth and just s joy to use..I have both the Omegs and now also a Gamma which i put my 5inch coil on it as soon as i received it and have hunted with it twice and the Gamma is awsome with that coil.I used the Omegs tonight with the std 10 inch ellipical at the camp ground and so far between the Gamma and 5 inch coil and the Omega with 10 inch coil i have pulled over 100 clad coins out of just one small area there. As you can suspect its covered with trash being a campground but that 5 ich shines in that environment...Im not an expert by any means but when coin hunting i use 4 tones and take my time in this trash infected place but its like no one has hunted there, yes its all been clad coins so far but its still a blast to find so many coins in one small area and did find a little girls ring this afternoon there. My time is usually spent on the other side of the lake at the park hunting but wanted to give the campgroumd some time now that its closed for the season. The 11inch has its place of course but i find myself using the 5 inch and the 10 inch std Omega coil the most....Enjoy the Gamma 6000 it will make you smile each time you use it..happy hunting ..Markmac

5" DD coil, and then you'll have all four coils for these models.

Like Markmac stated, I like the 11" DD coil in more open areas for coverage and such, but I do most of my coin hunting with the elliptical sub-10" concentric and the little round DD. In my case I used to swap the 5" DD on and off as needed and was going to just mount it and the elliptical 10" to a Gamma and Omega and go with that. However, for me and my hunting needs, I decided to stick the 5" DD on the new G2, leave my 10' elliptical on the Omega, and the 11" DD is on a spare lower rod for quick changes afield to either model.

In more open areas I grab the Omega and elliptical coil, but when in any trashy area, the 5" DD (on a G2 or Omega or Gamma) is definitely the coil of choice for success. Be sure to let us know how you do when you get yours.

Hey guys, thanks for the posts. I am looking forward to trying the 5" DD. I think I might have one day to try it before I go back to work. This means I will be gone for 28 days before I get the opportunity to do anything at home again. That's the life of a line boat capt. But I am already looking forward to those next days off. I really like to detect in the colder weather. No one ever bothers me at all. Had a great hunt today with the 505 and the gamma. Going back tomorrow to see if I can beat my new record. Gonna post it tonight.
