This DFX is in perfect working order other than the screen will eventually need to be replaced. There are some vertical lines on the left side but with the contrast all the way up, it is not an issue (see Photos). I picked this up cheap in the spring and have used it all summer with No issues. Last week I picked up nice clean DFX from a Craigs lister (Then There were Three ) so going to sell this one for what I paid. It comes with an AA battery pack and the stock coil. It is beat up and been heavily used over it's life time but still works perfectly.

$160 PayPal Friends and Family/gift or $165 standard Paypal.

I would be game for this old DFX if still available please email me..
Thanks

For Timbers info....might try checking the wire harness connection to the screen pod. If it sounds like greek contact your local whites dealer. poor connection and cleaning of connector just might get rid of the lines..Sure worth a try...Also Whites reconditions units and a call to them might be in order....

Thanks Doug!

I will check the connections and such. Being more geek than greek I love taking things apart.
As I am out here in Washington state a couple of hundred miles from Sweet Home I've been taking my V3I in every year for a check up . Whites and especially Mary in customer service has always treated me well there.
If any of you get around to Oregon stop in there. They have a great metal detecting"museum".as well.
Sweet Home is just a little country town so its pretty relaxed.

Happy hunting

Tim/Dan I checked all those connections, it is the LCD. As I had mentioned on the phone I put a nice piece of gaffers tape around the top of the LCD and board to squeeze the screen together (had the LCD off several times and talked to whites Repair guy about a new screen and things to check).. The tape improved the screen image 100% from how it was when I got it. I used to be an auto mechanic and moved to programming DBA and System admin in the past 15 years so a geek as well.. I would suggest just using it till you get down to Sweet Home for a new screen rather than taking a chance on those plastic clips that holds the screen case together. The Tech told me they can no longer get the original screens and the replacement they install requires a couple new resistors on the board other wise I would have just ordered and replace the LCD.. cost was around $80 plus shipping both ways so I just used it as it was. Since the tape was applied, screen has not changed from what you see in the photos.
