Full tones falsing on shallow ground (Mineralized outcrops)

I was out in the woods hunting today in an area with granite outcrops. When using full tones, I was getting high pitched background noise when going over the granite. When I switched to two tones, etc... the noise left. It was much, much quieter, even though it would false occasionally.

I am wondering, is it because of my settings that this high pitched falsing would happen on full tones? I played with sensitivity, and didn't really help too much when turning it down. I tried notching the high end of the scale, but no luck either.

I went to an adjacent 2 tone program, and every time I would get a signal I would check with the full tones. I could hear all targets with both programs.

TL;DR --- The rocks are hot, but they don't seem as hot when not in full tones. Why?

I've encounter siimilar issues with an upper 80's GB number and no indication of mineralization on the bar graph. I attribute it to non oxidized magnetite(often present in granite)clumps in the mild soil creating signals. You might also increase the silencer a notch
