Thanks for posting another video on full tones. You were doing well with the 13 in coil. Man finding roman coins what a place your hunting!

youtube under garys channel or type in deus full tones explained .

That last full tones video was fascinating to me because I haven't been able to get comfortable with it. It helped to see him work it. But he seemed to work through all of the squeaks and ignore them, while I feel the need to go back and sweep over them to make sure I'm not missing a high tone target. So is this just a matter of practicing, and learning to ignore those squeaks because "you'll know when you hit a good target"?

The one key statement he made that helped me was to *not* try to correlate every tone to a specific target. I think that's what I've been unconsciously doing because when you're a 3 or 4 tone hunter, you listen for the tones you recognize/like. So I think I get that part now.

So I see how full tones works for a heavily iron infested site. How do you guys use it in heavily trashy sites (so not necessarily iron, but things like pull tabs, can slaw, etc)?

Back to the park to practice.
Thx

Rich

for me I investigate those small squeaks (repeatable) in trash because it can be a good non ferrous target deep and ive found a 1851 lc doing that a chinese coin and a eagle button . Maybe where gary is hunting the good targets are shallow with the iron. dont know but in his other videos is where I learned to hunt those small squeaky sounds. Of course there are those targets that are bright and you know they are good but there are also those small squeaky sounds that( repeat) and sometimes they are something great hiding amongest the iron and trash deep. I dont know if I explained that right but you will get the feel for the good sounding squeaks . good luck. btw you can use the squeaks to let you know your hitting targets deeper than the modern stuff that is shallower and cherry pick the deep targets from the trash. I have my audio responce on 3 and that lets me tell shallower targets from the deep ones because it makes the squeaky sound ( Repeatable) on the deep ones and some times its very very faint if its real deep.

good thoughts calabash.

run it as wide open as you can - i am really loving 0 discrim. b/se it's killer on hearing trash - especially bottle caps for me. if i wiggle on a tone that hits like bigger silver - i then back the coil back and forth as i wiggle. if it is a bottle cap, the signal will almost always start to go lower and then break up with a very distinct iron grunting. as stated above, run audio response on 3 - that way you can hear the deeper targets below the trash. audio response will make deeper targets sound softer - love, love, love that feature.

once you find an older target among the trash, note the depth. if you start seeing older targets in the same depth strata - you now know what to go for. Sometimes they are mixed badly. Sometimes you will dig trash, instead of good targets. the more you practice, the better you get at it. it's addicting. i'm sold on full tones. oh, can slaw hits super hard - same with cans that haven't been cut. i find that if i keep hitting those super bright targets that are iffy, and turn while swinging (small) - I can make a pretty good assessment. There will almost always be some place(s) in there where it really breaks up. The hard part is when there is a tight mix of trash and that higher, bright tone. Sometimes you will dig trash in those cases. But, wow, I am getting better and better at it.

HH!

Thank You Gary...
For those that haven't seen this video..

Gary has been a God send to the Deus community with his videos.
Very informative.
The best is how he is showing what the Deus is doing and sounding like not just the recovery after the target is located.
I do like seeing what others are finding, but how the decision was made teaches us a lot.
Again Thank you Gary

me too! Showed the deus to a couple of guys yesterday, I showed them how my trash program works in the thick trash and my buddy swinging the etrac said he has never seen anything like it.

Thanks guys I really appreciate your kind words and support.

Great video as usual! We need a full tones in trashy park setting if anyone is out and taping......

After reading everyone's posts and watching Gary's video I tried Full Tones for the first time today.
It only took me an hour or so to get tuned into the sounds - the good targets really stand out with full tones - I like it !

Thanks for the video Gary and Good Hunting to all !
