Fun weekend of MD'ing

The weather was nice and we took advantage of getting out to do some digging. Other than our norm of pull tabs and some clad we found a couple of interesting items. 1 item that looks like a handle that was from the old timey roll out windows on a house/school or possibly an old car. Found our first piece of silver that was at a local park. Also we stopped by an older school yard. I picked up a dirty light piece of metal I first thought it was maybe one of those chucky cheese tokens I have read about. When we got home and cleaned it a little bit we realized it was a Vietnam coin from 1963.

Has anyone had any luck around old church's the type that doesn't really have a parking lot just alot of dirt and grass?

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I brought back a number of coins and some paper money during my "visit " in 1966 - 1967. Do you have a picture of it available?
Mark

Hey Mark

As soon as I get it cleaned up a little better I'll get a picture of it and post it on here then we will see if it matches up.

This was the best I could get. The back was pretty corroded. To the side of the head it says Chong-Hoa. Then what I can make out on the back 50 XU 1963

Congrats on getting out over the weekend to do some digging and finding your Viet Nam coin....I guess it is their 50 cent piece....too bad about the corrosion maybe you can use the potato method to get it to look better that is on here from another post! :clapping:

God Bless!
