anyone is still using BFO's ?

I like build and use this type of detector, even if they are in some way "problematic".
unfortunately here in Italy they never arrive in the '70 or arrive only few units so they are rare as used units... so i build them by myself.

for anyone use (or have used) this metal detector, can you share impressions or tricks or stories ?
 
I have used BFO's for years back in the 1970's. they have a pleasant tone. although depth is not good they seem to find things that the newer detectors seem to miss.
