Furnace site tips w f 75

Just wanted to see if anyone has any tips
Got permission to hunt an old furnace site near the tn river. This was a pretty busy place back in the mid to late 1800s. My question concerns the ground conditions I think there would be (iron ore) and then I'm sure some of the finished pig metal would be in the area. It's about a 2 hr drive and I m meeting the land owner there so I want to be efficient as possible. Anybody know if an f75 will act OK at a spot like this. I Want get to go to mid January just trying to get our ducks in a row. Think the small coil might do better / stable in this kind of ground?

Yesterday I hunted picnic area next to a river that was active since 1863. Nightmare spot with iron, old pull tabs and all types of bottle caps. Ended up using 1n tones To give my ears a rest.
I used the 11 inch coil for an hour and switched to the 5". The targets are so close it was difficult if not impossible to pin point with the 11" coil. You could hit 10 items on one swing.
so defiantly that the 5", if you are going that far and one shot at that place.

Long drive, Have a back up plan! If you can find the old dirt/picnic areas nearby that hasnt been filled with clinkers and slag from the foundry...

I hunt a park here, there were a lot of foundrys here back in the day, and this place was filled in with the spoils..certain areas are so far impossible, no matter what I try, its like hunting on top of a steel plate, I know theres fresh drops here, cause thats where the carnival sets up rides, but no matter what, I have not been able to hunt it at all, not even for a surface drop... I still go and try, different settings and whatnot to try to master it..no luck so far..the areas that were lightly covered with dirt and sodded I get about 4" on fresh drop targets...running low sens, 35-40 and a neg thresh.-3...its still a nasty hunt though, and I dont think anybody else in this area can handle it or wants to try..Let us know what you find out?
Mud.

Thanks for both post. I'm looking forward to it but definitely feel it might pose unique challenges. I'll post after our hunt after deer season is over
