Future E-Trac user?

I'm thinking it's time to give the ML a shot at this terrible soil here in Wyoming. The DIFFICULT ground setting and the Auto-sensitivity are moving me in that direction. What really has me intrigued are the nuances of the AUDIO settings. Pitch Hold would be an example.

I have no illusions of the E-Trac being the "silver bullet" but I see an opportunity to go places I haven't been before. If nothing else, this should further my education in the hobby. I think each brand of detector contributes its share to our education. Hope you all will keep up the great posting as I plan to spend more time here.

If you haven't yet, you should download the E-Trac Emulator. Gives you a chance to play with the E-Trac.

The E-Trac is all about the tones, although the Visual ID is no sluff. Very accurate at great depths.

At one time I had the Explorer Emulator downloaded but when I try to download the E-Trac Emulator my machine won't it allow for some reason. Maybe it's because I still have dial-up. Could be some kind of firewall issue. Would be fun to play with it.

Yep, I have both the manual and Andy's book. Been over them numerous times. Kind of reminds of studying in college. Takes about 4 or 5 times through the assignment until some of the really good stuff starts popping out. Looking forward to getting my hands on the E-trac although I'm trying to keep my expectations in check.
