Took the G2 out this morning to a soccer field that is riddled with iron. It's a newer park so no chance of any old coins, but because of the extremely difficult hunting conditions, I had a feeling that it might hold a gold ring or two. The G2 hits so hard on gold range signals. The 3.7 gram ring came in loud and clear at 61/62. It was only down about 3 to 4 inches. It didn't have any mark stamped on the inside, but because of how shiny it was coming out of the dirt, I thought it had to be gold. It passed the 22K acid test, so must be 24K.
On a couple of different occasions I almost sold my G2 because I figured that my F75 would certainly find anything that the G2 would find. However, the G2 runs so smoothly and quietly in places that cause the F75 fits, I just couldn't let it go.
There's also a picture of the first small 2 gram 18K gold ring I found with the G2 -- Target ID 51/52.
If anyone from Teknetics reads this, here is "My G2 wish list"
- volume control
- backlight (like on the F75)
- ability to display either TargetID or Ground Phase in All Metal Mode
- a 6 x 8 DD coil
