G2 in the park

i took the G2 and the MXT PRO to the park today with my son in law. we checked each others targets throughout.. seems the G2 was locking onto targets better than the MXT PRO. nothing was more than 6 or 7 inches but the G2 did just perfect. as good as the MXT is we both like the G2 better.. here are some reasons why... its alot easier to ground balance, with the readout on the screen you always know if you ground balanced right... also the numbers on screen are alot bigger.. nice for older eyes...faster recovery! when it hits a target you just know, blam!! was alot lighter and felt better to swing for 5 hours today.. i am tall,6'4" and the detector feels fine, the mxt i had to buy tall mans rods.. also have large hands like my son in law...we both have to hunt with index finger pointing out on the mxt because of the trigger...i like the trigger its just in the way if you have large hands..so feel of the handle is perfect on the G2. did find alot of coins today..had a blast! happy new year everyone...

Hey was wondering how the g2 did against the mxt as far as sensativity? Can you run the G2 real "Hot" like you can the MXT.Also was wodnering if it had a SAT adjustment. It may not fend well hear in the ever chagning diffcult ground of the rock mountains.

IM still not sure if I am sold on the g2 - I still feel for prospecting the ground traking and adjustable SAT on the MXT makes it still a better choice.I guess time will tell.
It seems like its a winner in weight and comfort. It think it be alot easier to swing prospecting becasue of the shape of the machine/leight weight.

The MXT has been around for some time,in time I hope after market coils are made soon for the g2.I also hope fisher makes a few more coils for it.Thats another thing the MXT has over the G2 is so many coils.

Great report!!! Keep it up, the guys that hunt "Dirty Money" need hope too!!! Seriously, the G2 will prove it's worth in the parks and beaches as well as the relic fields. I know it has the depth, you just have to listen to it and learn what it's telling you......MO

im still learning the g2 but i like alot of things about it.. i run it full throttle at the places ive taken it..smooth as silk.. what i did was buy a garrett pro pointer, sold my dx-1 sunray probe, sold both of my sef coils and all my extra lower shafts except 1 for my mxt.now i have the d2 dd whites coil and bought a small 4x6dd. that made the mxt pro lighter (4lbs with d2 coil) compared to my g2 at (2.7lbs with 11"dd)..made the mxt alot more comfy..that 10x12sef coil was heavier than the d2..actually according to my digital scale the d2 weighs the same as the 6x8 sef coil. i can run my mxt full throttle most places and i do really like it. have found alot of goodies with it. i just ordered a omega 8000 to test..cant wait!
