Garrett Ace 250 Equipped With A 5"X8" DD Coil

Hi, has anyone tried an Ace 250 and the 5"X 8" DD coil?....I was curious about the depth, rather it be air test or actual in the field testing....How much difference between the stock coil and the 5"X 8" DD coil in an air test?...Thanks...JJ

JJ, I have one on my 250 and love it. In my air tests and coin garden it gets the same depth as the stock 6.5"X9" concentric. Two big improvements is toe to heel coverage and much better target sepparation. It really transforms the 250 in my opinion. I haven't taken the 5"X8" dd off since mounting it up. I'd say buy one and don't look back.

Hi,,,Hey Mike thanks for your input on the coil....I find it hard to believe it gets the same depth as the stock coil but I also believe Garrett got it done right when they came out with the 5" X 8" DD coil...Has anyone else tried this coil yet????....Thanks....JJ

Yep. Mike is right on about the 5x8 DD. I keep it on my ACE 250 all the time, except when I'm searching a large open area, such as a soccer field. Then I use the 8.5x11 DD coil. Works for me.
