I went back to my new spot that I've been detecting lately to see what else I could find. It was rough going at first, because I wasn't finding anything but trash and wheat pennies, 13 of them. Finding wheat pennies just spurs me on. Finally I got a strong mixed signal that I decided to check out. It turned out to be a 1940 nickel stuck to a 1927 Mercury Dime. You got to dig those iffy signals. Right after that I got a Buffalo Nickel, and Car Wash Token. Then I got slapped in the face twice with two gold filled rings. The wedding band one gave off a high audio tone, so when I popped it out of the ground I was puzzled. I mean it looked gorgeous, so I figured it had to be something like maybe a silver coin just underneath it. Nope! My heart sank after I saw the 'GF' on the inside of the band. I said a few bad words and went back to detecting. About 5 feet away I got a screaming high tone with the VDI number in the high 80's. I dug down about 1 1/2 inches and popped a 1953 Washington Quarter in some really firm clay type ground. The rest of the site is mostly soft loamy type soil. I had my ups and downs today, so I thought I'd leave on a high note. I was using the Pro Zero mode with full sensitivity.
There's no doubt in my mind that there are several real gold rings at this site and I'm going to find one of them.

You got some silver coins and the potential for gold rings at a later date. Good luck.....hope you score a "GOLD"!
. I wanted to say: silver is well conserved underground, copper coins underground deteriorate. I'm sure they left the land, of course. I also would jump
.we understood you right, over here we all had silver coins in our pockets up until 1964...then everything went to clad..
...our dirt silver generally comes out of the ground nice and shiny like it was dropped yesterday...the water silver gets all gray colored and pitted sometimes...no need to apologize for the translation, we understood you just fine Brother!
