Garrett GTI 1500

Waterdog

Well-known member
I have been thinking about the GTI 1500, but not sure about it. I would like to hear from others that have had experience with it. What are some of it strong points or weak points. Can it handle hot ground like the that found in the mountains of California ?
Thanks in advance

hello water dog i owned the gti 1500 for about a year and i have too say WOW i found just as much much good targets at all depth's from surface finds too 12 inches ! i have never had a problem with bad ground issues ( sensitivity set at 9.5 or higher all of the time) but as far as discrimination goes it is top notch. i have owned several top brands and paid alot more money for them for the same performance. i currently own Garrett's top model the gti 2500 and could only get out a few times with it before the winter weather set in but I'm sure i will love it like i did the gti 1500. if you do go with a Garrett gti 1500 the imaging feature will spoil you i would have a hard time detecting without it, it works that good. hope this helps

Is it the brand detector your not sure of or the model. My first detector was a1500 then I went to a 2500. Tell you the truth the 1500 is all you will ever need ,a real coin finder and every thing else finder. If its the brand go to the top of this page and click on Forum index. Compare the number of people using Garrett detectors and writing inn to the other brand users. There is a real good reason for this . If its there Garrett detectors will find it. Just one more thing ,compare prices . They can vary in prices and hobby shops get the most.On line web sites are the best. Good Luck
