Garrett Infinium...an Eric Foster question.

Eric and other PI gurus. From what I have been reading about the Garrett Infinium. As you know, this machine is basically a PI that discriminates out iron, etc. and supposedly does not lose good targets. Isn't this the perfect machine? How come nobody is raving about this machine? What are your thoughts? How come no other detector companies have followed suit and tried to make a discriminating PI themselves?

Dude Im not Eric Foster but if the Infinium truly does discrim iron being a P.I. machine it should rightfully being be the talk of the town ...........unless the owners are keeping a secret.........Im listening but not hearing a lot of feedback on this machine ..............I was seriously considering getting one .........but whats the real scoop??

The Infinium is not true discrimination, it is not that effective, use of it will lose you smaller gold. You can Reverse Discriminate as with Eric's detectors, where you are changing the Pulse delay from a lower number, more sensitive, to a higher number, if the signals stays it is probably iron, if it drops off quickly, it maybe gold and dig it.
You can ID somewhere effectively using the tone ID. If you want to hunt coins you dig the low-high tone, if you are in gold fields you use hi-low tone to dig, none of it works perfect, buts helps some.

I have an HeadHunter Pulse by DetectorPro and I really love it......seems the good targets have very clear crisp tones when swept, and the iron lingers on in tone when you over it.........Its such a simple unit to use and they come much lighter as all the circuitry is in the headset!! A clean beach on a summer afternoon and fresh drops ................this machine ROCKS!!

Unfortunately, I have no first hand knowledge of the Infinium, so can't really comment on its merits or limitations.
Eric.

I too thought this was a heck of machine when I heard about it last year. If you want more info I provided you with a link to people who use it the most. I have lots of different stories on this unit and it really depends what you want to use it for.
I still thinks its one of nice unit. <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)">
