:garrett:just bought a ace 250 any reviews

Just bought the garett ace 250 and would like to hear how other member like it and how deep will it go thanks any infi will help.I have a safari and love it but im asking for my dad

This whole forum has more 250 reviews on it than any other machine. Don't worry. He will like it!

Wet salt beaches run the sens at 3 or 4 bars. Notch out iron and foil in the wet.(maybe more if falsing a lot?) Sweeo slow. In the dry you can open it up. Don't buy accessory coils until you know he likes the machine and detecting.

Yep I second that he will like the yeller feller!

I tried to upload an article on The 250, that I wrote for Australian Gold Gem and Treasure mag. Unfortunately, it wouldn't upload.
The bottom line is, I thought that the Ace was a great little detector for what it is. I did end up getting ride of it in the end because I really didn't like the bombastic tone of the Ace. It is surprisingly sensitive, has good target separation and one of the best pinpointing features that I've ever used on a detector. you get a really good idea of how big a target is by listening to the audio fade.
I currently use a GTI 1500, an X-terra and an SE Explorer. When I had the Ace, I had an XS Explorer and to be honest, I probably grabbed the Ace more often than I grabbed the Explorer. It is very easy to learn and use. You can expect to get 6 to 7 inches of depth with the standard coil except in wet sand at a beach where you Safari will get twice the depth of nearly all VLF detectors.
Have fun with it.
Mick Evans.

I've had my ACe 250 for seven years and never had a problem with it. What does THAT say about the Ace?
I've paid for the machine several times over and am ready to move on to something else. I'd buy the Ace 350 but it's not
that different except it has an 8.5 Khz coil and the Ace is 6.5Khz coil.

The sniper coil is fine for hunting around trashy areas. But I'd recommend ythe 9x12 for hunting in farm fields and abandoned houses.
Both coilds are more than worth the money.
