Garrett Pro-Pointer AT FALSING

I have the Garrett Propointer AT Orange carrot one. I have had it for about two weeks now. Yesterday I took it out and it I found that it was going off in the air, no metal around. I noticed it falsing in the ground when I tried locating a target. I had to coninutuously turn it off and on and also had to run through the sensitivity several times. It would stop for a while, but occurred several times in my hunt. Any ideas? Anyone else have this issue? What did you guys do to fix this? Its new from Amazon.
 
If you can't get it working, call Garrett. You have only had it for a couple of weeks, so the warranty is in effect.

Thanks John. I removed the battery and put it back in this morning. I was out for an hour and all was good. But I noticed that. Its like a bad marriage. Some days good, some days really awful.
 
No, I didn't change the battery. I don't understand why the problem doesn't exist now. I took it out for another hour and all was good. Very strange.
