Garrett Pro pointer question ?

Broke down and got the garrett pro pointer today.....may be a silly question but i dont keep that sucker on the entire time detect do I ? I only hit that button when pin pointing right ?

Also...how many hours can I expect out of one 9 volt durecel or entergizer battery on the garrett pointer ?

Yes, shut it off when you aren't using it. It gets a bit wiggy if you leave it on. Not sure about hours on a battery, I put a fresh one in at the start of the season. If I get to go detecting a lot, I may have to replace it once.

You hit it once to turn it on, hit it again to turn off. In a season, I use 2-3 batteries with the GPP. I believe I get somewhere around 20 hrs a battery.

I agree with the others turn it on find your target, turn it off. I might add sometimes when using it the target may be in the side of the hole so if you just keep digging deeper try to check the sides. one last tip. if you dig a plug and find no target, but the detector says there is something there. Take a coin, place it on the side of your pointer and slowly slide it up toward the tip. Just when it starts to chirp, Back it off until it stops. this will increase the detection about a inch or two. Good luck and HH

Yeah the guys are tighht and if your like me if you leave it
on sumthin your wearing will set if off !!!!

20 hrs is about what i get thats a long time if its not
always on
