Garrett Pro Pointer

Just bought a Pro Pointer on e-bay. I think i got a good deal. Brand new, never used,in the box for $109 shipped with ins. Now if it only works as well as i keep reading it does. Gotta be better than the Harbour Freight CenTek.

Oh yeah!:thumbup:Propointer is the best!:bouncy:Garret rocks!:garrett:Happy Hunting!:)

Pro-Pointer is the best. A few nights ago I was working a sports field and got to the goal posts at the far end. My Ace 250 had on the 9x12 coil, couldn't get too close to the soccer goals. Too far to go back for my sniper coil. Looked down in the tall grass by the post and eyeballed a quarter. Thought I'd go ahead and just use the Pro-Pointer around this goal post and located a couple more quarters and pennies that I would not have found otherwise. Neat trick!

How do you like the 9x12" coil? I have a new one i haven't even used yet. I have the stock coil, the 9x12 and the 4.5". Haven't used the 4.5" one yet either.

Yeah I do that and also around the metal in playgrounds or if a group of coins in bark chips is shallow and just gives one signal like a pop can I use the PP to seperate them.

I use the 9x12 for working the sports fields and really like it. Naturally it's a little heavier than the other two coils, but it does cover more ground. Ideal for soccer fields. Detects deeper than the other two Garrett Ace coils, although depth's not really necessary for these fields. Very seldom is anything more than about 4-5 inches deep as these fields aren't real old. Trash isn't usually a big issue around here when working the area between the goalposts - the trash is mostly on the sidelines where people sit and watch - not as much where they're out playing and losing coins, rings and other goodies. I find it easy to pinpoint with the 9x12. Keep the sensitivity at about four bars. REALLY BONGS when a quarter is right on top! I often notch out the zinc pennies as most are corroded so badly they're not worth digging up. Try your 9x12 and your Pro-Pointer for that one-two punch!

I use my 9x12 mostly for open areas and freshwater sites (still haven't tried saltwater yet) It seems to do a little better than the standard coil in these areas. "Targets" in the water will sink deeper and this coil will pick them up better and with it being in water it will get a stronger signal as well. I use the standard coil for places that have various objects (weedy/shrubby areas, lots of trees, etc) as I find I can cover the areas a bit better and you can manouver the coil better than the big one. I save my sniper for trashy areas and of course play grounds and places where there is alot of metal that can interfer. I also use the sniper as a back up when the larger coils are acting up around poles and such (If I get a signal that I am not sure is the interferring object or something other I use the sniper to determine what it is. Found many coins this way.

Now that I read the the PP can be used up close to these areas I will use that as well!

You'd be surprised how many guys on the White Forum own Garrett PP's.
Shouldn't they all be shunned by the rest of the White's community for that?

The ProPointer is better than what you've read. You'll never want to go detecting without it.

I like mine! I noticed when I stick it in a hole that if it is cheap metal such as foil it doesnt have a strong signal like a coin does!
