Garrett Seahunter XL 500

I just bought an used pulse Seahunter XL 500 (with built-in rechargeables and 8" coil). I plan to wade hunt and dive hunt a bit in shallow water if this Boston winter ever ends.
I'm considering the 13" coil if I can find one for wider coverage.
Any opinion about that? Any other observations or tips or info sources about the XL 500 and its use?

The XL500 was design for diving on treasure wrecks and in general looking for larger objects, it is not designed to be sensative to small gold items like rings and jewellry.
I am not sure about 13" coil if onw was made, but have never seen larger coil.

Jay,
Any info on the Xl500 and where to get the larger coil please pass on to me! I just traded for one and can't wait to try it this weekend. I built one of Gary's PIs and my own coils that works well. My air test on the XL showed it to be good on depth and sensitive to silver and gold rings(unlike the previous post). jnorrell@tds.net HH, Joe
