Garrett's 8 inch Infinium mono coil

I just purchased this coil and found out that Garrett DOESN'T make a coil cover for it. My supplier apparently checked with Garrett to confirm that. I found that to be odd and strange. Jim

Jim have look in this site http://www.goldfeverprospecting.com/gainlsmedela.html and scroll to 8" Mono Searchcoil "Protective coil cover for this coil. W-1602200 $6.95"

Thank you very much x XP...I notified my supplier so we will see who is messing with whom...I just never heard of a manufacturer not having a coil cover for their product...THanks again, Jim

Hey, thanks for the info x_XP. I'm gonna grab a couple of those 8" coil covers for LS & MKll. I always disliked the fact that Garrett didn't make a coil cover for the 8" mono. I just hope this one conforms to the shape of the coil and is not solid on the bottom(like a plate)like the coil cover that Garrett makes for the 10"x14" search coils.

Yeah, alot o' guys just have that pick up truck bed liner sprayed onto their mono coils for protection(which is really a great idea). Best of luck. Happy Hunting!:)

Hi Metalhead...I was looking at that site but no where could I find where you select the coil and then put in in your cart. Let me know if I'm just losing it or what. Thanks Jim

We make our own.

:lol:No, you're not losin' it buddy. I couldn't find a way to add that coil cover to cart, either. I might give 'em a call on Monday.
Thanks ivanll, that's pretty cool for prospecting or relic hunting, but man it'd drive ya' nuts in the surf. I appreciate you sharing that.
Happy Hunting!:)

Metalhead. I heard from the maker of the coil cover.... Said I should give them a call...will do that on Monday....thanks Jim

metalhead.

For the surf we use clear PVC tubing, or make a big hole in the centre of the full cover one and curve the inner edge up, there is always a way.
