Yesterday at pre dawn I hit 3 of my USED to be very productive totlots..usually good for 5 bucks or more....stone cold empty! Near as I can tell, somebody else is getting there on Friday nights..must be a new guy who figured out my milk run! :rant: I got 3 nickels and one Q...I hit Lake Mich, way too stormy to get in the water, I tried, but the waves and even the ankle deep currents were too strong, I had my chest waders on, but it was impossible to swing let alone scoop in the water..I walked 3 miles on the beach looking for a semi peaceful cut, none to be found...got one more nickel, 3 pulltabs, and 20 scraps of foil off the dry sand...I was really hurting when I got home!

So today I hit a big school complex again at predawn, Intent on coming out of there with some gas money...I got this clad and 2.40 in empty cans, and a nice tie dyed tee shirt the Wife will like...I crawled around under the bleachers, hit the drop zones to and from the concessions, etc..took the dirty clad and the cans to a store and cashed them in...bought one 24oz can of Labatts beer for 1.68...There was a big shooting here last night at the Elks club, 7 shot, 4 killed...I need to get over there tomorrow and see what was dropped in the ruckus...but right now, I will take the Wife dancing at the Blues Barn...37 years ago today I broke my neck playing HS football, docs said I'd never walk again, might get the feeling back in my arms to the shoulders....thought about that this am, Thanking the Lord to be able to crawl around at a football stadium with the F70, and to be able to take my Wife dancing! ...today is a special day for me, and I hope my brother Fisher hunters meet with some success!:please:

Still a nice pouch full.....with all those cans.:rofl: You might need to become a silver coin hunter. Less crawling around! Oh well, it was just a thought. For sure, you are thankful. And we are too. HH jim tn
 
Mud, you clean up clad hunting. You can buy several silver coins with that take. :thumbup:

Thanks guys..I am running out of fresh locations in my area though...just been doing the same ones over and over..gonna have to move I guess...Interestingly, I hit a zinc penny spill, 3" deep..took the time to try to get them all, on the last one, final sweep, there was a Q masked by them...Elton, I have been very careful this year regarding some of the urban totlots and playground parks...I will sweep them in Nov, when its really blowing rain and ice...i would think theres a good chance for a big chain to be dropped during a major firefight...seems those little places that are rented out for wedding receptions are good places to hunt, since theres often fights there.

Mud you maybe on to something there, I am always looking for new spots to hunt. I am keeping track to see how much I find and how fast I find it, I want to figure out how quick the machine pays for itself. So I like those high coin count places, can't wait to snag some gold too.

I think there are millions and millions of coins and jewelry still in the ground to be found. Don't get into that mental attitude of there isn't anything out there. That is exactly what you will find! Change your mind and you will be surprised what shows up. See what happens when you read all those positive thinking books and take all those classes! Your world changes. WOW!! Anthony Robbins, Zig Zigler, Hill, Stone and the gang that has many of my dollars over the years would be proud of me. Never did make any money. But they did teach me that while metal detecting I could turn the other cheek and get just as sun burnt on the other cheek. :rofl: ... Keep up the good work Mud and Happy Trails....Z
 
Hey Mud,

Today I revisited again, for the umpteenth time, a small lake side park that was my go to place 40 years ago! Sometimes I wonder about myself because I keep going back, as there is nothing left in the way of coins but modern clad.
