gasket sealant??

New member
Hi all you experts

Well after nearly 7 weeks waiting my BH ID is finally in New Zealand.
Should have it soon!
A question - what do you put on the sealing gaskets if anything? ie vaseline / silicone grease? or just dry?
thanks in advance!
I hope to post first finds this weekend - watch this space!

The manual just says dry and clean. Heres a link to the manual.

The idea was it would ruin the rubber in the seals, or something. After owning two 1280's for 11 years, I sold them, the rubber seals were still like new. but I have since switched to
silicone. I still have a tube of Vaseline in my kit, and would use it with no qualms if I needed something. Just my take on it. have a good one.

I use silicone based gasket sealant available at all Dive Shops. They use it for the gaskets on underwater camera housings. I have been using it for years on all my underwater fittings and housings for years without a problem. Plus if you live anywhere near a body of water there is usually a Dive Shop somewhere close by.
