GB on Garrett 250 ?

n/t

it is a turn on and go unit. You probably know it doesn't have any kind of adjustment for ground balance. Garrett didn't even add circuitry for raising or lowering volume in the headphones or speaker.

Best place to ask ia with Garrett. They may not have considered some people may have need of ground balance that they can adjust themselves.

Here is the link to the ACE 250 info at the Garrett website:

I don't think there is much room anywhere on the yellow control box to add another add on knob or room inside for any more circuitry to be added...if they did I sure wish they included a volume control circuit or barring that a headphone with volume adjustment they sell with the detector.

I probably didn't help much. I am guessing you are in an area of heavy black sand that is causing detectors to go nuts.

There are many older Garretts and used so they are a bit cheaper than new (but again some older technology the older the machine is) that you can get from eBay or other detecting forum for sale section. I don't know for sure but Warthog (Steve) has a newer Garrett (a GTI I think) but don't know if it has ground balance adjustments.

I have had the the Garrett GTA 1000, GTAx 1250 and neither had ground balance adjustments - as best as I can remember.

Let us know how this turns out for you Graw.
