Howdy folks, ok, this is probably a really dumb question... and I'm almost too embarrassed to ask....
I "think" I get it, but am not sure.... so, here goes...
When i set the Manual GB say to 85, is that the same thing as setting DISC or NOTCH to 85?
I guess I'm asking, if GB is set to 85, will it no longer signal on anything with an ID of 85 (I get it its not like DISC where it will shut out 85 or less... but will it shutout - for lack of the proper term - anything with an ID of 85)?
I "think" GB is "different" than DISC or NOTCH for matter, as it may be in a realm unto itself and that setting a GB of 85 is indeed NOT like setting a DISC or NOTCH to 85.
Foe example a dime comes in as a 91, if I set GB to 91, would I no longer get that dime?
Thanks!

I will take a brief stab at this, sure others will have more for you. Ground balance will effect sensitivity one way or another depending on how well you GB. It does not effect your disc or notch settings, they are a different beast. Ground balance is simply calibrating your machine to the soils surrounding your search areas. Depending on your location you may only have to GB once a day, other locations you mat have to GB several times a day. Always GB first following your manuals procedure. Then establish you disc and or notch settings per your preference. Remember a notch is a segment of the ID range. Ground balance, disc, and notch are three different things. Keep them separate in your mind.
