GB & tracking on the X-Terra 705

D&P-OR

I have a 705 (gold pack) coming & also am wanting to acquire the 10.5 DD (MF) coil for it (for more open & sparse target areas).---These two coils being 18.75 & 7.5 khz should work very well in my mineralized ground.-----My question is: does the 3 khz coils ground balance & track as well as the two before mentioned coils in fairly heavily mineralized ground?-----I am trying to decide if it would be worth it for me to consider purchase of a 3 khz coil DD configuration also--the new 6" DD 3 khz Coiltek in particular.---I realize none of these three (mentioned) coils are waterproof & that is not a problem to me.---My hunting is done in-land & (mostly) for coins/relics in mineralized areas, although some nugget hunting is (hopefull) on the "menu" with the 18.75 khz coils a little later. :)------Anyway, my "bottom line" question is---will the new Coiltek 6" DD 3 khz in heavy mineralization ground balance (and even track) effectively?-----This coil would be used in trashy/mineralized areas basically in search of silver/copper coins.----I realize in these conditions I wouldn't have the tracking feature on but am wondering about the gb aspect of this coil & under these conditions?-----------Thanks, Del

To answer your question in a word, "YES" it will GB and Track just fine.
The various frequencies aren't as limited by ground conditions as some might think. The primary difference will be the response to targets. Under "normal" or mild conditions a lower frequency will penetrate the ground deeper than a higher one, but that perk is diminished some by higher levels of mineralization.

Don-----That's a question that we both always wanted to know but was afraid to ask! :)--Thanks again longhair, I'm sure I'll have other questions for ya when I get my 705 next week.----------Del

No problem guys......I'll be here.

Glad someone asked that I was pondering the idea of the six inch 3khz my ground is moderately mineralize so guess it will be just fine for me.
Thanks all!
