Get ready for even more competition on the Beach

Oh brother, as if we don’t have enough competition on the beaches, I have a feeling it’s about to get worse. I was just on Minelab’s website and noticed something different about their Vanquish line of detectors. They were previously red with horizontal control boxes, and except for the search coil, the detector itself wasn’t waterproof.

But looks like Minelab has redesigned the Vanquish line and went with a vertical control box that to my eyes looks a lot like a Nokta. AND, in addition to them being Multi-IQ, they’re all now fully waterproof down to 16ft.

Looks like the price wars are heating up and Minelab appears to be going directly after Nokta, since the Nokta’s were priced a bit lower than the NOX’s & X-Terra’s. Now, anybody and their brother can get a fully waterproof, Multi-IQ detector for as low as $249.00. Bye Bye single frequency, looks like everybody will now be coming to the beach fully armed with SMF detectors.

I was told a new model or variation of the Vanquish was coming out, but this is the first I have seen one.
I know over my way, others are detecting the local swimming lakes as my buddy and I search….it has gotten worse over the last few years.
Like you stated, it will be the same at the beaches too.
And with finds diminishing there too, it is going to be even worse.

Felix, so true so true... Beach hunting is no where anything like it was 20-30 yrs ago.. Said it before, say it again, if its not there its crickets all day long.

Looks pretty nice and waterproof to boot too....Let those hunters come by the car loads, hell better yet by the bus loads... They will find out when theres nothing there theres nothing to hear.

Personally, I'm not worried about competition as I hunt the wet and shallow salt water, although I will venture up to the dry to hunt the towel line if I want to stay dry. I see other hunters on the beach, most seem to be running Manti's these days, but they typically seem to focus on hunting the dry and maybe down on the wet. But it's rare that I see another hunter in the water. Hunting in the water is harder and more challenging, and I think the majority of hunters are lazy and looking for easy pickings. But when I'm in the water with my PI, let them all come in the water with me, lol.

Funny, sort of, A few weeks ago I recommended the Vanquish 540 to a friend for her Grandson, who has a low level single frequency detector and his birthday is in a few months - and that was the OLD 540! My gosh, now waterproof and all those features for only $399! Sounds like it would go along with my CTX 3030, Equinox 800 and Manticore. Great place to begin if you're around salt water...

I was looking at the old Vanquish's myself for my grandson. I didn't get him one, glad I didn't. I'd much rather get him one of the redesigned models that are waterproof.
