Gettin' Better.......

Went out again today for the 2nd time and had much better results. I took the Ultimate program and changed to full tones, GB tracking, sens 92, and found 1 quarter, 2 dimes, and 5 zincolns. I also mentally rejected (but dug) a lot of trash. The real fooler remains those *&%##! bottle caps.

Still a lot to learn.

build a program next to the one you are using and make it in 4K (that is if you are using 12 K for example). you just would have to press the plus button to check those pesky bottle caps. if the number stays the same it's a bottle cap, if the number drops it's a diggable target.

Running full tones and 0 Discrimination in most all programs.
Raise coil while tight swinging over the target and as the target drops off it will have the iron "grunt" if a cap.
Coin targets will drop off sharply.
I still dig caps to check the "iffy" ones, but this has helped me reduce the caps.

Lately I have gone to using a duplicate program with just changing to xy screen and putting it next to my favorite. I found I was being fooled by the deeper caps. So u can zoom in and for sure & see it is a scrambled signal and not a straight line like most coins.

Love the XY screen, mostly because I'm used to it with the V3i.

Most bottle caps are simple, raise the coil, go over the target a few times and if the numbers drop it's usually a cap, if it stays the same it's usually a coin. Bottle caps are usually scratchy and hit really hard too. You'll soon be able to hear the difference with practice.

Nice info provided here. Back to studying all I can on the Deus.

Enjoyed that line about mentally rejected a lot of trash but dug anyway.
