getting a safari

Congrats on the new Safari, take your time, do some testing in your yard. the tones and id's take some time to get used to, but don't get frustrated, you'll find the goods. Read (follow) the posts and check out some vids on line, you'll do alright....

A really good machine. I just got mine last fall and I am very comfofortable with it now and findin lots of great stuff. Once you learn the tones and ID's you will love it!

Congrats Warren. I suggest reading through this forum on current and archived posts for getting to know the Safari. It helped me greatly along with a copy of Andy Sabisch's "Mastering the Quattro", or the more recent "The Minelab Quattro & Safari Handbook". A must read
http://sabischbooks.com.

The book is the best help to understand the Safari. In the begining I went to the 8x6 coil but once I learned the tones the 11" pro coil has hardly come off. Also use a slower swing speed. The 11 can have more targets under it and you can work the good targets out from the bad.

Keep fresh batteries aboard...

Use your hadphones if you can.

Get a good pinpointer, recommend the Garret...

Learn the music....

Enjoy, I like mine...
