I have owned both, and they both are good machines. The interface in the on the f5 is very easy and user friendly, but the f70 is very easy to use as well, and comes with other built in features that are very good. All in all, the f70 is it for me, it's quick and deep, much deeper than the f5 in my experiences.

I have the F5, and I love it, but the F70 is the next machine up the line and has additional features. If you can afford the F70, go for it, as it does get down deeper according to most, but you'll be as happy as me if you go with the F5! :fisher:

Do you have a local dealer nearby with both in stock? That would be a good way to see which one fits you the best. That being said, I believe having great CONFIDENCE in your machine is critical to your success...neither of these units will let you down as far as that is concerned, both will pay for themselves quickly, It might just become a decision on what batteries you prefer to use, AA's or 9's...you go and read some more of the posts here...I would not discourage anyone from purchasing either unit. This is a good place to hang out and learn along with the rest of us as we prepare to ransack the globe this year...
