I've been getting tuned into the 10" DD and finding it to be pretty interesting.
Mostly, this thing like to glide on turf. It doesn't drag or catch on twigs or clumps like the stock coil.
Depth seems comparable, with maybe a little more "info" coming through. My area is GBing around 97, with 2 to 3 bars on the iron meter.
I have noticed when at a medium/higher sensitivity setting, this coil will double/triple "ping" a fairly shallow target.
I had a clad dime buried in sand, about 2" deep. I swept over the dime to see how low/medium/high setting would react.
Once I was set at 65, the coil would lightly ping once the coil edge was over the dime, then a solid hit at the center, maybe a trailing ping when the opposite edge passed over.
Maybe I'm making something over nothing. But it was the first time I had encountered this type of response. I don't know if it was a fluke due to conditions or if the F70 had some other issue.
Once I get chance, I'll do some "worthless" air test comparisons between the stock, 6.5" and the 10"DD.
Oh, about EMI. The coil seems to be pretty stable, at least no worse than the stock coil. But I did run across a funny situation at a sports park. I was sweeping the grass strip between the parking area and the fields, when a low hum came through the phones. It was still daylight, no lights coming on. and the grass was not wet or damp. I tried to GB to no avail. Cycled through the Hz settings with no luck. The hum remained consistent. I had sweep through here before without this happening. and I didn't have the stock or the 6.5 coils with me to trade out. Puzzled, i moved on to "quieter" ground.
