Ghost signals

I was having a lot of problems with ghost signals a while back, on a site that had a old Dance Hall from the 40's and 50's. It has been shut down since the early 60's used as a storage building for vending machines and games machine. It burned down 10 years ago, and pushed it in a pile and cleaned off, then pushed the left over dirt and junk leveling the site. I would get all these ghost signals on the lot. I started then checking pinpointing mode the area around where I got the signal and would find other targets within a foot to 20 inches mark them and then move over to the my original target in non pin point mode it would be gone. I would then dig up the other targets I got on pin point to find some super rust nail, pieces of a push buttons for games. Then two weeks ago was hunting and area with a lot of history and junk, the ghost signals started popping up then I would start checking targets and found a lot would be ghost signals from other trash in the area. I don't know if anybody has tried this, I get enough digging on those 00-25 thur 00-28 singing high pitch to think it is that fist real old silver coin to found out a piece of aluminum fence post end caps or a chrome piece.

My first guess would be ashes they give ghost signals and can be a pain as will hot rocks and old discentraged tin cans. Once you move the dirt your disc works properly and they are gone. Normally i just put a the pinpointer in the hole and can find the object that caused the hit. Rarely do i dig a hole and not find the target.... even if its trash.
