Go figure you buy a Omega and get a free 11" DD coil

Well I sold my T2 to get the Omega and have no regrets. I prefer the DD coil and will buy it soon. I think with the DD coil the Omega will be a superior machine to the T2. I prefer the Omega to the T2 anyway. The superior information in the audio is something no one can really argue. So when I spend $150 for the DD, I'll have a machine that I find better than the T2, and have two coils for it at $50 less than a T2 with one coil. And I'm glad I didn't wait. The Omega has easily found me a free coil's worth of good finds. And of course fun.

Honest question..I have a T2 and can't imagine a better machine.. No offense meant in my question.

No offense taken. I loved my T2 but find the Omega a step up in technology from the T2. Even though the ergonomics of the T2 were state of the art, I couldn't stand the batteries under the cuff. The second time I had it out I poked a hole in the speaker with a twig, because the speaker is on the bottom. I hunt in the woods for relics so sometimes I don't use headphones. I think the Omega balances perfectly, is lighter, and the display offers more information and is easier to navigate. But the main reason I prefer the Omega is the information transmitted by the audio. You have to use it to understand. I never got that from the T2. Whether the Omega is as deep as the T2 I don't know. Maybe not, because the T2 got serious depth. I'll have to see in my test garden when I get the DD coil. But depth is not the end all for me. The Omega is plenty deep, and ID's well at depth. Again, loved the T2, but just like the Omega better.

the biggest share of the posts in the brand forums "over there" are made by dealers.

Except for the classified section that other forum is pretty much dead.

Responding to some of the complaining in this thread: Some people seem to think that when they buy a product, the manufacturer owes them a promise that the manufacturer will not ever do anything to improve it or to make it cost less or to obsolete it with something better. In other words, that the world is supposed to stop when they buy something.

A few of y'all have heard "the parable of the day laborers". Same principle.

I'll be quite blunt. It is our mission at First Texas - Fisher to improve products, to come out with new and better models, and to reduce costs. Maybe there's a company that promises their customers the world has stopped, but we ain't that company.

the parable of the day laborers...............very well said Dave. Havent read that section in awhile, will have to look it up.
