GOD loves our SOLDIERS too.

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don

Very good poem, Jim.....well written with truth concerning our military men and women! My grandson, Joey, is going to join and was to be taking his physical and tests, but haven't heard how things went! He is the one with the new baby girl, Jayden Lucille Rose, and with the economy like it is, I guess he is joining to provide for his family, as jobs are hard to come by for a 20 year old. I just hope and pray he will stay protected from all danger and harm.....sooooo will be praying for him to be kept safe wherever he is protecting us....providing the army takes him, which they probably will unless he has something major physically wrong with him!

I hope your son, Michael, is doing okay and you get to hear from him and see him often! He is still in my prayers!

God Bless!

Thanx Ma. i still do and allways will appreciate the prayers for Mike. We are countng the sleeps as i type this.9 more sleeps and that young man o' mine will be in my arms for the 1st time in over a year. THANK YOU JESUS !!!!!!
Joey will most certaily get accepted. I hate to say this but..the US ARMY is literaly fudging a lot o' paperwork for both physical and legal issues that anyone may have to git anyone in that will sign on the dotted line. It is a sad state of affairs but the numbers in our Military is serioulsy lacking now adays.
Unless his MOS is 11B, infantry, he will be a few years away from deployment,(given his duty station choices) and with Gods' grace, hopefully this war will be over and he won't have to deploy.
Either way Ma, Joey and family will most definately be in our prayers.Keep us posted on this young HEROS' progress.
Please shake that young mans hand and thank him from Janet and I.
Jim

Thank you, Jim and Janet, for your kind words and praying for my grandson, Joey! Yes, I am sure he will get in as they need more men and women to defend our nation and other nations against terrorism, but I'm afraid because of the enemy, the war will escalate into a Big One and more fighting, destruction and killing will be done.....as we are getting close to the end of the age as we know it and when the saints of God are caught up into the air, then the rest of the Book of Revelation will be fulfilled. There is going to be, if not already, a One World Gov't, One World Religion and a One World Economic System. The nations depend upon the economy of the US and other governments and it looks like were in for some lean years, But, when we have Jesus, we can trust in Him and know God is still on His throne and nothing can happen to us or our loved ones without His knowledge, Who loves His own with an everlasting love and gives us peace that passes all understanding! Praise His Holy name, Jesus!

God Bless!
