That is a lot of pictures to upload!! You guys look like you had a lot of fun. When the pictures first started, I thought; Man that is a lot of work. Upon seeing your prizes, it sure looked worth it. Thanks for sharing them with us!!

I didn't find them. It is my first outing. Have a look at the size of the detetor heads. What are these machines? How will the etrac cope?

How would you reduce the depth to 3 inches? Thats all I'm allowed to dig down to

I'm not understanding you Bilko. Did you mean 3 feet or 3 inches as you stated? If you are only allowed 3 inches I would find a different area to hunt that allowed me to dig deeper. I think you just reduce sensitivity on the E-Trac if you want to reduce depth. It's not a total loss. I have found many coins under 3 inches.

Take care,

NebTrac

If your digging on the Thames river forget the e trac.
Take a bucket spade and a 2x1 sheet of wood fill bucket spread over the wood and use you hand held pin pointer to sort out any metal objects.
There is nails ect like you would never believe on the banks of the river would render your e trac useless
or maybe take some thing like the ace 150 with 4in coil and detect over what you have spread over the sheet of wood.
Always work in all metal because the is lots of valuable iron objects that can still be in amazing condition after 100,s of
years due to the lack of oxygen in the mud witch protects the relics
Good luck and you will be amazed what can turn up just from digging a random hole and sifting through it
and make sure you take your license with you bound to get some attention from the boys in blue lol
Good luck and happy hunting mate

Thanks NebTrac and Chipmonky

Yep going on the Thames foreshore. Got the licence

Thanks for the advice. Will take my etrac. I've done 2 programs which may work but it is all good experience

I wouldn't necessary leave the E-Trac home. If you can only dig a few inches I would turn your sensitivity down and go to ferrous 2 tone and run ground difficult, trash on, deep off, fast on or off. Try it in all metal or relic pattern or maybe minelabs "nails" program. Go slow and see what turns up. You may want to listen to some good targets in ferrous 2 tone as they will sound very different than conduct. tones.

Thanks, Neb Trac. I will be doing all what you suggest as well as turning down the amplification of deeper objects. I may just use my X1 probe, I use multi conduct all the time but will ferrous or conductive 2 tone. I have created a gold pattern which goes from 10 to 14 on FE and hardly has any numbers on CO. Also created a v tight silver program too. May be horrible weather though so....
