Going to Church for first time!

I would say to keep praying that God would lead you to the right church and seek until you've found the one that is for you and your family! Praise the Lord that your daughter was home for Christmas and able to be with you all in the church services, which ws an answer to prayers for sure! Keep asking and keep seeking and the Lord will guide you to where He wants you to be for worshiping Him in Spirit and in Truth and for gaining godly wisdom in His Holy Word by reading and studying the scriptures until you know whether the preachers are preaching the truth and not their own interpretations of their religious ceremonies! Seek and ye shall find; ask and He will show you where you need to be and what He wants you to know and learn of Him and His righteousness! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Catholic churches do aloy of kneeling. I would go to churches a few times a piece until I found the right one. It sounds like you all had a great time. I am glad your daughter came home for Christmas. thanks for the update.

To me, A good bible church is one where the Pastor actually reads from scripture and then continues on to clarify what he has read in his message for the day. Most likely he will reference other passages in the bible which support and reinforce the main scripture he started with for clarification of the original point.

As to which denomination to chose to go to, there are good, mediocre, and bad churches under the same name in all denominations just as there is the same spread in ALL occupations, trades, and things in life. You need to be patient, persistent and careful in choosing where you go to church. There are a lot of cults out there operating under the guise of Christianity and some of those are VERY prominent and seem so "good" on the first meeting. As it says in scripture, the wolves will come in sheep's clothing.

It might be very helpful if you know other Christians in your area to discuss with them what their church is like and ask them if their pastor uses his bible much during the sermon. Knowledge of the bible and the use scriptures are to me very important. Also, weekly bible studies are at the top of the list for ACTUALLY learning what the bible says and it helps you to more fully understand what IS written there as you read and study it by yourself or with others.

I don't have a PhD, I'm just a regular everyday guy who loves the Lord and it took me awhile to understand about the importance of a "Bible " based church.

Feel free to PM me if you wish.

( This post number has absolutely no relation to my beliefs)

The number 666 is in scripture as the mark of the imperfect man.

Thanks for your lovely story Jerseydigger. It is going to get even lovelier yet.

All will be resolved if you "Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon. These promises are found in Isaiah. 55:6-7 and are true and faithful.

Praise God,

Do people church hop? Yes and probably so should you a little bit, You know go for a couple weeks then to another and repeat. Pray God to lead you to a the church he wants you in.

Becarefull not to bounce to much though 'cause then it becomes habit.
Also do be aware that Mormans are not Christian. They do not believe in the God of the bible. They believe Christ and Satan are brothers and God was once a man like you and I. That you and I can become like God and eventually rule over our own world. Much more also but that will do for a start.

Try Calvery Baptist they pick a book of the bible and go through that entire book before moving on. Four Square Churches and affiliated are good, they tend to be topical and more contemporary. Assembly of God are also good. Nazerene Church can also be good At some point I have attended or been a member at all these.

You will find that many will seem "loose" compared to the Roman Catholic. You may also discover that the Catholic, Anglican or Lutheran may be more comfterable because of their structure and tradition. Of these I have only been to Catholic churches.

The most important thing is that you find a church that preaches the bible and follows God the Father. God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Your radio station has several REAL solid preachers on. Several I have never heard of so have no opinion of.

God Bless
Jeff
