Going to Colorado with Gold Bug Pro what do I need to know?

I'm going to the Taylor Park (just north of Gunnison) Colorado to ride ATVs and am going to carry a new Gold Bug Pro. Tell me anything you think would be helpful about using the Gold Bug in Colorado. Anything! Thanks ahead of time!

Ironically, my name is also Steve, and I am ALSO going to western Colorado to do some gold prospecting (and a little ATV riding!) I also am interested in some tips on using the Bug in a gold prospecting mode, in Colorado!

Go to AZO's: Gold Prospecting Forum and read all of trinityau posts. He is an old time detectorist who used the gold bug2 then switched to the gold bug pro and likes it much better. He detects mostly Northern Calif. it seems like. Good luck on your trips.

just read one post 1 g at 11in have to read more of his posts about ground conditions but sounds good so far

OK read some more and was out the door packing to go look and forgot my bug is in for a refit doh, this guy has some great info for me and others to use Dave was right it finds little bits in junk but we all know that right? i use mine in junk for coins so now i am getting gold fever have a few spots lined up to look too!

missing bug even more now

yep not worried as Dave has put his hand on the fixing of the bug did you read that guys post on the bug Steve? very good lot of info for us city dewlers and my dusty 5in might get some use . wish i didnt have to drive 3 or 4hrs to get to where gold is.

oh very good Steve any info on this subject is pretty hard to find so if you find any more than what he has shared on the forum share it with us?

i did buy the 5in coil ages ago to use on gold so now i got 3 gold machines and yet to use any of them looking for gold just need a solid pick and no excuses and i am off to look, winter is a good time to grass not as big and snakes are asleep we must have the most deadliest snakes and the most amount of them (oh goodie) brown snakes, death adders, tipans, sure there are more then black snakes make you real sick and all other sorts in between.

they are harmless unless walked on except maybe for brown snakes they will go out of their way to attack!! and they get big 6ft sometimes bigger
