going to get to get a digital camera today for $300 or less, possibly used also ,any ideas...

It will be for the both of us so:
my wife likes them compact and somewhat thin: this is her big criteria, also ability to use with a home picture maker

i'm looking for: good macro, resizing capabilities in camera( in other words easy to download to computer in a size under 120 bits) Ability to take outdoor closeupe and lanscapes, I also like to take pics of animals a distance away so I'd like a decent magnification which will still allow it to be compact

Olympus stylus 720 SW, It is waterproof to 10', shock resistant to a 5' drop and 7.1 mp and small enough in size to carry in your pocket. I'm getting one for christmas to take canoeing, metal detecting and hiking, did a lot of research on this one and can be bought at wal-mart online for around 270.00. I'll let ya know how mine does if you don't have one by then. Good luck in your search...Jim
