Gold and Diamonds Found at Tot Lot

I found a marked 10K MEX earring that has "diamonds set in a channel" according to the wife. Looks lie diamonds to me. I'll have a jeweler look at it someday to confirm. I also found a cheap heart earring and 20 coins for $1.92. The 10K wouldn't lock, it bounced between nickel and pull tab.

Jewlery is always nice to find. Looks like the real thing.

Hey that MEX one really looks great,
Betcha if ya went back there in 3 weeks time you'd get it's partner. (it's not unknown)

The funny thing was the clasp was closed when I found it. Might have fallen out of a purse or pocket.

Nice, nice. Thanks for the heads up, A-man. Or should that be Au-man?!

I recall an article years ago from the Fisher magazine, illustrating that nearly all gold jewelry, something around 80%, fell in around the nickle and tab ranges. Most was around nickle and just above. There were a few items that fell outside the nickle-tab range, but not many. From time to time I like to test all the gold I've amassed, just to remind myself how it acts. Invariably it falls somewhere in the midrange, with few exceptions.

Dont like digging pulltabs, you say? Then you dont like finding gold jewelry much, either.

very nice, congrats on that find!

I checked several womens gold rings under my ace coil, and they bounced from pulltab to foil. None under nickel??
