For you F70/F75 guys...man I can't tell you how much jumping was going on at this site.
I have been here several times and in this area at the edge of this large park near some big homes, wifi, power lines and who knows what else and I always encounter the most severe EMI here that I have ever dealt with to this point.
Program 1 was 2F, DE, sense at around 70 and Thresh at -1 with jumping everywhere, but I was actually in program 2... AT, SL, Sense at 99 and Thresh at 9, settings.
As hard as it might be to believe, and you can imagine how noisy these settings actually were, but even with all that noise and jumping somehow more stable numbers seem to be easier to notice for me, or at least I have learned to do this because I have been using these as my more standard hunting settings for awhile.

I am weird I guess...logically, when it gets too noisy the thing to do is turn down the sense and thresh and switch to DE, I do the opposite and have been successful.

We keep telling everyone that the natural language of the F series is jumpy and chatty, but even in that kind of environment when our coils roll over something good these things manage to let us know, somehow, and those that never took the time to learn and understand this quirk in the Fisher language never seem to get this.
Thank goodness I do, and this nice gold ring smack dab between two pieces of iron in heavy EMI is the proof.

Man...I dont think I can handle the hotness you are running!.:surprised:..Like you said, its hard to even try something different once a guy gets comfortable..you have learned a very productive way of hunting that is obviously working quite well...that sure is a beauty REVIER!:clapping:

Mud.

Thanks mud.

I only used those maxed out settings as a check at first, hard to understand and make heads or tails of what I was hearing and seeing at the beginning, but one day at this exact same site I noticed that my check program seemed to give me more stable numbers than disc did over actual targets when I forgot to turn it back to program 1 so I continued to use those super hot settings more and more at all sites and slowly got used to them.

I still switch back and forth because listening to that constant threshold hum along with the other noise can get mentally fatiguing sometimes, but I use AT more and more at most sites...or as much as I can most of the time.

You know what they say...
"When the going gets tough...bring the heat!"

Nice going on the gold wedding band! That's a big deal.:clapping:

Thanks Revier. The F70 really continues to amaze me. You get used to running a certain way and you just wonder if I adjust the setting what will happen? Than there is a whole new adventure to go on and find out what will come up. The F70 is simple to operate but can be adjusted to so many different ways to hunt with out getting lost in hundreds of different setting and menus.
That is a nice ring and thanks for sharing. Now it gets me wanting to get out there again today and find more than the 12 coins I found yesterday. Thanks again Revier......Z

Way cool. Nice ring:thumbup: Been using my autotune the same way since the beginning. Only I have mine setup in the program 1 where I always start with a fresh ground balance since that is the default startup program. I hunt a spot that is similar with the display rolling through numbers like Norad looking for launch codes in War Games. These are usually great areas since hardly no one wants to deal with the noise or is unable to untangle the mess. You have learned the 70 well grasshopper:rofl:

Yes, since I am a little younger than mud and probably have more time left in this world, I actually do take 5 seconds to GB at the beginning of every hunt and usually a few times during my hunts too just to stay optimum.

Sigh...
