Gold "BUG"

New member
went for a drive to the beach see if i could find anything searched a few gutters no joy only stayed for 45mins spent most of it just looking at what?

thought i would stop at a park on the way home give the gold bug a spin even though i know its flogged out just i am just a novice at retrieving dirt targets so just wanted to go practice on a few items, no targets of note no coins few al bottle tops started getting the poppies with my machine going to retire you then i remembered i cant find coins if there not there

so went along this steal fence got a hit if you own a gold bug will know it sounds like a machine gun on a good target which is strange but anyway bit out of practice with the bug right up against the fence maybe a coin??? least not in vain if i take home a few bucks, so i go to work with the screw driver all new to me i must say, but probed away and hit something about 2 in's down so go for the leaver affect and look what popped out, just jumped out at me, oh dear!! all i could say out loud was gold bug you freak me out!! to find this up against a steal fence with junk all around OMG

so needless to say the poor thing will stay in my arsenal

was in the low seventies i was disc-ed up at 65

Ah, so that came up in the low 70's because of it's copper content and not it's size or gold content, nice !

yep exactly what i was thinking it sounded like one of our $1 $2 coins and they are 92 percent copper so would agree with that, they machine gun when less than 4in's, although it fits my little finger and if you seen my hands would understand its not small :surrender:

thanks guys for the nice posts about my find :clapping:

thanks guys, sure was a nice surprise from a park hunted out guess that sayin is true no place is ever hunted out?

Steve you get another detector?
\
Dwayne2010 you will find one i am sure !!

Yea, Amberjack,

I'm now hunting with the Gold Bug DP AND a Minelab SE Pro. I'm supportin' your country AND mine with my detector choices!

I love the Gold Bug for gold/jewelry hunts and sometimes when hunting coins, and the SE Pro for deep silver hunting...

Steve

good stuff Steve glad your getting out and havin fun!! :clapping: its a bit addictive this detector business i think i am supporting the US more than here :detecting: i have to stop buying detectors now and get out and find which ones i like best and sell the rest they are all different its crazy!!
but yes the gold bug seems to like gold and silver jewelry haven't tested it on the gold fields yet will get out there soon enough see how it goes got the Little 5in coil to go on it for the small gold.

well happy swinging it cant get boring out there there's always something to learn.
