Gold Love Token

I went out to the Lake yesterday & smacked a beauty. My first gold coin/love token. It's an 1879 $2.50 piece in great condition to boot. It's hard to tell but there was a loop on the top to wear on a chain that had worn through but broke off by the time I got it home. The coin was only down about 3 or 4 inches or so which was unusual since the area dates back to the late 1800's. Needless to say, I bet you'll know where I'll be next weekend!

NICE! What a GREAT find!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Was it in a picnic area or what?

I found it on the shore line of the Great Salt Lake where there used to be an old amusement park & tons of swimmers. Wierd thing was it was only down a few inches. I've dug lots of gold rings there as well but I dig those at depths of 12" or more. Strange. Anyway it rang low..like a beaver tail.
