Gold Nuggets

Anyone use one for nuggets?Nice. I got a gb se and it won't pick them small ones up in the heavy minerlized ground. WEll i might. It seems to blow me away sometimes. Like i found a old boot tack in a bed rock creves that i swore was gold. And it was pretty deep. It will get the bigger one for sure. I bought a new dector saturday a minelab eureka gold. Im happy for it. havnet got it yet from kellco probably be a week or so. Mine is just so hard with hot rocks. Dont get me wrong it works very well and I did find a .8 gram specaman with it like my 3 time out. But i have noticed the GB Pro has a few extra features that the SE don't. Deathray them are some very nice peices of gold. Where do you live at? Im in Northern California.

Speaking of girls you should have your share up on butte Creek above Paradise. Spent 45 days there dredging and college girls buns up and sunning every weekend.
Was Just at Washington and the water was still pretty high on the South Yuba. I'm not too far away in Placerville but love that butte area. My dredging partner lost a 6 gram Alaska nugget there in a area no one would check. Sometime soon I'm going to come that way looking for it if you want a hunting partner for a day or two and or want to come my way for a American river adventure your welcome.

Yea im getting ready to go tomorrow or next day for a half day or so. In fact was just going over the blm map to get a slucie permet for the day. Can take up to 8 people, on a permit. How was the dredging up their? I was amazed by the amout of quartz up their, and the river. I have only been their for few hrs a few days. Want to try a slucie up their. I have never been to the American seen some you tubes of scropiontoyou at mineral bar which i like.

It was our first dredging trip, A friend and I got laid off so we decided to give dredging a go. We did not do our research well and the section of the river we leased turned out to have been flumed and worked to bedrock by the Chinese. In the redding mining museum you will find a picture of a rock with 5 china men still under it ,that was our spot.Our biggest piece was 5 penny weight. and we got about a half ounce. $3000 in costs only $200 in gold but the fun we had PRICELESS!!!
Two spots up from us a pro dredge crew with a 20 ton Keene winch cleaned out 7 and 1/2 pounds for their summer between 5 guys. (keep in mind this was right after the flood) If detecting that area there is tones of bedrock. Been detected allot though.
When sluicing don't be shy about sampling high up on the bank! There are little gravel pockets up in the boulders in places. When we were there there was a 10hp Honda dredge motor 20 feet high and dry stuffed into a crack on the edge. (and I mean stuffed)
The flood of 97 blew stuff everywhere. Water was hitting the bridge on doe mill road!
I want to raft the American this summer stopping at all the bed rock. It would take you days to hike back in there.

Yea thanks for the info will look into it. Yea thats where i was at doe mill bridge. Wow water up to the bridge thats crazy hi. Its like a 30 foot jump. 
Yea im going to go tomorrow for bout 5 hrs and this time im going to work slow, and turn down my detector some. I have been missing targets and diging tons of rubsh or junk. I always bring a pan so i will try sampling up the bank some. I got bout 30 peices of small crud just sampling around. Not much to ride home bout thogh. I don't know if you been up to where all the dredging piles are up from doe mill rd. But their is alot of rocks piled up their. For bout 40 yards easy. So some one has been doing some work their. If you ever come up this way hit me up on here vi a PM. I have only been down their a few times and it seems everyone seems to find some color.
And no i have not seen the picture of the big bolder. You mean they are still in the river?
I wonder where that is? OMG.. lol I wonder where it is? I was thinking maybe taking a creek inlet up. Their is one spot that looks good, and if the water is low another but don't want to slip carrying my detector cross the creek. I just don't like walking to far by my self due to bears, or mt lions, or other big animals. I will try to post tomorrow when i get back.

Yea i went for bout 3.5 hrs yesterday. Found some small gold panning. I can't upload a picture. Its ok don't have much. But i did work slow, and found way more targets. Even found some size 8 bird shot in some moss. I tore it off the bed rock and paned it out. Wow that stuff is so full of small gold, and black sand. I had fun and am going back tommorow. I only worked bout a 5% area of this bed rock out crop. How do you upload a picture? it says No file can be larger than 420KB.
