Gold numbers in beach mode vs park or field

I am learning my 800 and having decent success. I have yet to find any gold and am wondering if the numbers for a given metal, gold for instance will be consistent from mode to mode. Beach vs park for instance. If a gold ring comes in as a 10 in park mode in the dirt will the same ring be a 10 in beach mode in the water?

Yes. The lower conductive targets has very stable VID numbers across all the modes. The bigger the conductive target, the more it can spread, depending on how that modes is "weighted" for frequencies. You don't even notice it much for any single coins, but when you start stacking silver coins together and testing, it becomes very apparent.
