Gold Ring on a Sloppy Rainy Day !

It was a rainy sloppy day at the beach here in Jacksonville. I had on the rain top, rubber boots and a smile; needed to get out at any cost to wet the business end of my trusty Sea Hunter. She has been popping rings out of the surf one at a time. Managed to snag this class ring of 17.7 grams of 10K on single scoop in calf deep water about 7" down. Always a surprise to see gold in the scoop using a PI. The beeps all sound about the same, LOL

I recently found a class ring from 1964, had no luck finding the owner. What do you do with the stone in it if you decide to sell it? How do you remove it? What year is yours from?

The stone is probably junk. I do not send the rings off to get melted down, but if I did I would send the ring to ARA Gold. They have a method of removing the gold from the impurities and at the same time remove the stone. Ring is dated 1998. Congrats on your ring find. Marty

Just sold one like that today 11/12/11 10k WT was 11 pwt ABOUT 17.5 GRAMS got $237.00. 14K will bring a little more. I NEVER MAIL ANYTHING IN!!!
