Gold ring?

Goldstrike

Well-known member
The rain let up this morning and the sun came out so I went detecting for a little while. I got excited seeing this ring just for a few seconds down there in the dirt. Yep, another junk ring but hey, I'm getting closer to the real deal.....maybe I'll get lucky tomorrow?

C.S. it Id-ed at 38. I thought I was digging a quarter but the ring turned up! I'm not sure what the metal is. I thought copper but not sure.

get it tested my friend... First year water hunting i scooped a ring that at first appearance looked like just due to this orange tarnish over most of its surface and no markings, wasn't till a few days later i was fooling around with polishing some water finds and thought " what the hell" and went to work on the junker to find out it was a 14k with 10 small genuine diamonds.

Never know till you know :) My hope is you have gold,

Lakota......I acid tested it and it's definately not gold. I know what you mean about testing unknown metals. In October, I detected this unmarked ring from a local park which turned out after acid testing to be 14K AND tests positive for a diamond! That was a pleasant surprise! So it definately is worth testing both metals and stones!

On that is a dandy ring, congrats there for sure.

Do let us know if you find out the content of the mystery ring.
