Gold Rings

Anybody finding any gold rings with their E-trac? With my DFX I was getting 5-6 gold rings a year, with my E-trac I have found none in 9 months. E-trac is fantastic on silver though. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've found several gold pieces in my first month with the E-Trac. 1 14k ring and 1 14k earring.

A few of us have picked them up :) Look back a few weeks in the post..I put up a Pattern or 2 to help Not dig the junk yet let rings thru.Just have to decide if you wanna dig those signals,Abit of trash still hits like jewlery.Ive only gotten 1 gold ring in 3 months with the E-Trac myself.Lotsa silver tho :)Good Luck ..HH

most are in the foil range, don't disc it out

Hi! I specifically hunted for gold jewelry and didn't get my E-Trac until July. I ended up finding 6 gold rings and a couple of gold jewelry items. I found all my gold with a Sunray 5.5" coil. in trashy parks. I ended up with 3 diamond rings one a men's 9 gram 42 diamond beauty valued at 1800. I hunted with a pattern which accepted both gold and silver. I ended up digging a lot of trash and only was beginning to learn my E-trac when the snows came. I relied heavily on Andy Sabisch's book on the explorer and E-trac using the numbers he gave. Even so since I began reading this forum I realize I probably left several in ground based upon other bad numbers which still produced gold rings. All total I found 44 rings, a lot of silver and also a lot of junk ones. Good luck!

last one I dug came in a solid 12-17..........if your not digging nickel signals and below your not gonna get em. You need to open up your screen too, don't expect to get much gold if your using the coin mode. And get ready to dig a lot of trash because most gold comes in right where pull tabs, foil etc register at

Using the E-Trac with the X-5 this morning,Combined Coin & Jewelry discrimination pattern, found a small 14K gold ring. The ring was very thin, but there was room for hallmark, 14K. Later, at home, mounted the 11" Procoil and still get a good response. Ring was shallow, in an area with lots of trash. Maybe a 7" concentric coil for E-Trac would be a good accessory coil for those who spend a lot of their time in local parks,

Dug one this year, broken and deep, It was around a 12-37 signal, definitely a 37 on the CO. On average I've dug one gold ring every 2 years, but I got two two years ago. It's not my goal, I'm after old coins. If you want the gold, you have to train your ears to process the signals and set your focus on it... and also dig some trash.

I've dug one. Came in like 10-10 on the E-Trac. Was about 3-4" down at a very old church. The reason I dug it was the location. I'll put up with the junk at places like that. However most 10-10's, 12-10's and the like get dug. Most pull tabs come in 12-15 and up...but... so does gold. Just depends on the weight and size of the object. Mine was a man's wedding ring, but was really worn thin.
